Digital Marketing News: Four awesome things happening in digital marketing right now 1

We know that 2020 has been…. a bit rubbish, to put it lightly. But it’s not all doom and gloom. There are still some awesome things happening right now – Tiger King, for example. Or this hug tunnel’ in Brazil.

It’s no different for digital marketing. 2020 has seen advances we could only dream of before. And they’re all pretty amazing.

So shrug off the sads and get ready to feel good again! Read on to discover four awesome things happening in digital marketing right now.

You can now post Stories on LinkedIn

Thanks to its success Brazil, the Netherlands and UAE, LinkedIn users in Australia now have access to a new vertically-aligned, temporary status update option – or Stories, as the cool kids would say. Pretty impressive, huh?

Stories on LinkedIn function pretty much the same as Facebook and Instagram. You can even decorate your post with cute stickers and filters.

LinkedIn may seem like a strange platform for something as fun as this, but there is reason in the madness. Younger people tend to communicate more through Stories rather than the news feed. It also increases brand engagement and interaction. Stories are a GREAT way to showcase your personal and professional brand, so HAVE FUN with it!

So give it a go when you’re logged in next…

…. And events

How could we forget! LinkedIn has now made its Events option available for all company pages in a bid to help businesses affected by COVID-19.

Previously only selected companies had access to the Events function. But with thousands of industry events being cancelled due to the pandemic, LinkedIn wanted to find a way for businesses to still connect.

Use this new function to promote replacement meetups, live-streams, or webinars to your followers.

TikTok has launched TikTok Business

You read that right – you can now use TikTok to promote your business! TikTok is the fastest growing social media platform ever, with 800 million users worldwide. So how can your company tap into that ever-expanding audience?

Our prayers have been answered! TikTok has released a new platform called TikTok For Business, where companies can market their products or services.

The platform will include:

  • TikTok ad formats
  • Top View – the ad that appears when you first launch TikTok
  • Brand Takeovers
  • In-Feed Videos
  • Hashtag Challenges
  • Branded Effects

These features allow you to run ads, post videos with sound and host fun competitions with your followers to create the best hashtags. It’s a marketer’s dream!

Sending emails yourself is so 2019. Step into 2020, where Facebook will do it for you!

Facebook has confirmed that it will be testing a new email marketing tool with some small to medium businesses. The new function will allow business owners to create, send, and track the performance of emails directly from Facebook. Read more on Social Media today.

There is also the option of creating your own email lists or uploading a pre-existing one from a CRM.

And the best news? It’s free! It’s a great solution for small businesses who don’t have an email marketing campaign but still want a fast and easy way to get their message out.
