How Apple's iOS 14 release may affect your ads.
Uh-oh! Apple and Facebook are at war.
What’s happened?
Apple recently announced that it will be restricting the collection of data from its user’s devices. Before, tools like the Facebook pixel could gather information from people to allow for things like retargeting. But now, Apple’s latest operating system update is restricting this data collection process.
“Businesses that advertise on mobile apps, as well as those that optimize, target, and report on web conversion events from any of our business tools will be affected.”*
So what does this mean? Users’ data will be protected, but businesses won’t be able to use cookies and pixels to retarget their audiences anymore.
Actions you need to take to prepare
Facebook has listed out everything you need to do to prepare for the change. Read the full article HERE.
